Jiyeon Kim, MD

Dr. Jiyeon Kim, MD, FAAP is board-certified in pediatrics and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.


Dr. Kim earned her medical degree from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria in 2010, where she was appointed Chief Resident from 2010 to 2011.


Following this, Dr. Kim served as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, where she provided general pediatric care and played an active role in resident education as Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Residency Program. She was involved in numerous community advocacy initiatives and mentored pediatric residents in research, earning multiple teaching awards in recognition of her contributions.


After her time in Illinois, Dr. Kim joined a private pediatric group in Fairfax, Virginia before relocating to Orange County in 2016. Since then, she has practiced as a general pediatrician, striving to provide high-quality, compassionate care, and has been honored as a Clinician of Excellence.


With nearly two decades of experience, Dr. Kim considers it a true privilege to care for children and support families through every stage of growth and development. She values continuity of care, meaningful relationships, and a personalized, family-centered approach. Having lived in multiple countries growing up, she brings a strong appreciation for cultural diversity and strives to honor each family’s background and values. She is fluent in English and Korean.


Outside of medicine, Dr. Kim enjoys learning Japanese, exploring new foods, practicing Pilates, spending time with her husband and son, and running (or slow jogging!) 5K races together as a family.
